Aisling Bea

Aisling is a popular Irish comedian that has been in the business for some time. Born in Kildare, Ireland on the 16th of March 1984. She has appeared on QI alongside Stephen Fry. Aisling O'Sullivan, better known by her stage name Aisling Bea (born on 16 March 1984), is an Irish actress, writer and comedian. Bea began her stand-up show in 2011after having appeared in small parts on several Irish television shows and British shows since the year 2009. She began appearing often on sketch comedy and sitcoms in 2012. After winning an award at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards she began being booked frequently for different panel shows, where she has become a fixture. Between 2016 and 2017, she was part of the 8 Out of 10 Cats team as well as a participant in the 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown spinoff. She was the daughter of Brian O'Sullivan and Helen O'Sullivan and has a sister who is named Sinead. In 2012 she became the only woman in history to win the So You think You're Funny award. She uses the surnamed Bea to pay tribute to her late father. Aisling Cliodhnadh was born the 16th of March, 1984, in Kildare Town, County Kildare. She was the daughter of Brian O'Sullivan. Brian was an equine veterinarian who died at the age of three. Bea was only three years old. She did not know what happened to him until she turned thirteen. In honor of the man she loved, Bea chose the stage-name Bea and in 2017, wrote an article about suicides that affected her family members for The Guardian. Bea's mom Helen was also an instructor for jockeys and a former professional jockey, was the one responsible for the care of her daughter and Sinead. The family was awed by horses, race meetings as well as the race industry. Bea began her career as a tour-guide at the Irish National Stud. However Bea realized at an early age that the racing industry wasn't the right fit for her.
